[Fanfic] Love at First Sight (Chapter 11)
Title: Love at First Sight (Chapter 11)

Synopsis: This is a fic lightly influenced by Shakesphere's Romeo and Juliet. Although the story itself takes place in modern times, you can see some parallelism from the actual play to my own fic. But yeah anyways, it's this whole theme of KATTUN versus NEWS rivalry thingie going on, blah blah blah. Why don't you give it a shot? :)

Chapter 11

Kato Shigeaki looked at his watch as he gasped at the time. He was very late and would probably get scolded by Uchi later, yet he couldn’t help but wince at the fact that he would be getting Koyama in trouble too. But on top of that he worried about Junno’s mother and the dreaded lunch he was to provide. Plus aside from the dreaded lunch, Shige worried about stress drawn upon him because he had once learned that through stress, you can gain weight. And of course, Kato Shigeaki definitely did not want to become another Massu.

Shige immediately threw on his baseball jersey as he ran down towards the living room. Koyama immediately stood from his seat as he had an expression of anxiety plastered upon his face.

“Finally, what took you?” Koyama frowned slightly, not forgetting the suspicious phone call.

“Ah! Koyama, who’s on the outfield for the first inning?” Shige ignored Koyama’s question as Koyama was slightly offended.

“I think Akai High is…” Koyama answered.

“Okay, you go on without me,” Shige instructed.

“W-What?” Koyama exclaimed in disbelief. He waited all that time just so he would be able to get to the baseball field with his best friend yet his best friend was sending him off…alone.

“Sorry, I know you waited all this time for me and I promise I’ll make it up to…” Shige looked at Koyama with pleading eyes. “I’m going to be a bit late but I’ll be there in time for the 2nd inning…I promise!”

Koyama was quite hesitant as he frowned on the spot. “What do you have to do? Maybe I can help-”

“Kei-chan, you don’t want to be late now, do you?” Shige smiled as he pushed his friend gently towards the door. “If you leave now I’m sure Uchi will spare a scold upon you.”

“I’d rather be scolded with you.”

Shige paused for a brief second as he bit his lips slightly. “I’ll see you later.”

Shige closed the door behind him, leaving a rather hurt Koyama. He then immediately turned as he ran to his kitchen, grabbing the attention of his cook.

“I need you to make me a well prepared packed lunch in ten minutes!” Shige instructed as the cook looked at him with a surprised expression. “And please leave it at the door when you’re done!”

“J-Just ten minutes, sir?” The cook looked at Shige in disbelief.

“Work your magic.” Shige smiled pleadingly as he immediately ran out of the kitchen and into his bed room.

He would be transforming into Shigeako once more.

Kamenashi Kazuya was the first to step out into the baseball field. He looked at the immense crowd around him as he realized that more than half the residence of their city had come to support the game. On the left side were all the supporters of Akai High as the right side held all the supporters of Aoi High. Kame was amused how color coordinated the crowd was as one side was completely red and the other blue.

He walked on to the pitcher mound as he noticed Jin ahead of him in the catcher position. Just as Jin gave him a small smile, Kame turned his head, giving attention toward his other team mates.

“Ueda…3rd base check…Taguchi…2nd base…Nakamaru…1st base…check…short stop…” Kame looked at the other members as he made sure that all the positions were filled. He then turned as he watched the umpire step on to the field, signaling that the first inning had indeed begun.

Kame tossed the beloved baseball in his hand as he looked up to see who would be the first to come on to the batting mound. He gave a small smile of confidence hoping to strike out the boy before him.

Masuda Takahisa was the first to step on to plate. He secured his helmet in place as he grabbed his metal bat firmly. He threw a small glare at Jin who squatted behind as he got into the hitting position.

Kame tipped his hat for luck as he got into a throwing position. He threw one of his finest throws as the ball zoomed by Massu’s face, landing in Jin’s glove.

“STRIKE ONE!” The umpire announced as Massu winced slightly.

“Sucker…” Jin commented causing Massu to feel quite irritated.

“Shut the fuck up,” Massu mumbled as he got into the hitting position once more.

“STRIKE TWO!”

Massu frowned as he looked straight at Kame. Kame held on a serious expression as he was concentrated on his game. His piercing gaze made even Massu feel slightly uncomfortable as Massu was quite determine to at least hit the last ball.

Kame threw the ball of the third time as Massu swung his bat with all his might.

“STRIKE THREE!” The umpire cried out. “THREE STRIKES! YOU’RE OUT!”

Massu let out a huge sigh of disappointment as he walked towards the bleachers where the other members were sitting. Uchi gave a small smile as he patted Massu on the back.

“Don’t let it get to you to much…” Uchi bit his lips slightly. “IT IS Kame after all…”

“I didn’t even get to hit one!” Massu frowned. “He’s like a demon machine!”

“Don’t worry about it…” Yamapi smiled. “I have a plan to fix that.”

“A plan?” Uchi lifted his head in surprise.

“Yeah, a plan…you’ll see…” Yamapi smiled as he focused his attention back on the game.

“STRIKE TWO!”

Tegoshi Yuya felt his legs shake slightly as the baseball flew by him for the second time. He heard Jin’s remarks of satisfaction which bothered the smaller boy a bit, angering him even more as he vowed to never forgive what Jin had done.

Tegoshi watched as the ball flew towards him for the third time, however this time he did not let the ball go. Tegoshi watched the ball fly over as he threw the bat to the side, purposely hoping that it would hit Jin as he began to make his run towards first base.

“Argh, fucker!” Jin cursed as he felt the metal bat bang against his knee. “I’ll get that little bitch later…”

Tegoshi ran and ran with all his might as he hit first base…second base…he began to aim for third, but only stopped shortly as Nakamaru had the ball in his hand. Tegoshi remained in second.

Kato Shigeaki arrived at the baseball field as he immediately walked into the stands in search of Junno’s mother. He held the packed lunch firmly in his hands as he straightened his skirt and wig for the millionth time.

“Hey, cutie, want to sit by me?” A random boy from Akai High gave Shige a lusty grin.

“EW NO!” Shige retorted in disgust as he walked away from the boy, being highly disturbed.

“SHIGEAKO!”

Shige turned to see Junno’s mother waving at him. Shige responded with a smile as he ran towards Junno’s mother, greeting her with a bow. Shige then handed Junno’s mother his packed lunch as Junno’s mother gave him a smile.

“Ah! You made lunch; I can’t wait to try it!” Junno’s mother smiled in delight as Shige nodded in response. “So, I hear that you have a twin brother?”

Shige nodded.

“What position does he play?”

Shige held up three fingers.

“3rd base?”

Shige nodded.

“Oh! I’m so glad we are able to communicate!” Junno’s mother clapped her hands in happiness.

Shige smiled.

“Ah, there’s our Junnosuke on second base…oh and ugh…an Aoi High kid on second base…I do sure hope they lose…” Junno’s mother pointed as Shige felt sweat appearing from the back of his head, reluctantly nodding.

Shige looked down as he noticed an under classman was next up on the mound. In the end the boy was unable to hit the ball, leading the team into a second strike. Shige frowned slightly as another classmate made his way on to the mound, resulting in another strike. It was time for the second inning.

Shige stood from his seat as he tapped Junno’s mother shyly. He could not believe that Junno actually told his mother of such a thing. A girl…being continuously constipated? Wasn’t that considered a turn off?

“OH! OH yes, that, Junnosuke told me about that!” Junno’s mother gave Shige a small smile. “I guess all beautiful girls have problems too, can’t say they are all perfect.”

Shige cringed at her words as he immediately ran out of the crowd and into the locker room, hastily changing into his jersey.

“SHIGE!” Uchi exclaimed as Shige finally entered the pit. Uchi stared at Shige in disbelief. “WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?”

“Yeah, and why do you smell like a woman?” Massu scrunched up his nose.

“Oh and you missed Uchi’s grand porn speech,” Yamapi snorted.

“Ah, sorry, I had some stuff to take care of…” Shige looked at his other teammates apologetically.

“Well, we’re up on the field, good thing you came now,” Uchi retorted as he pushed Shige out of the pit. “I’ll inform you of my speech later…MAKE ME PROUD!”

Masuda Takahisa nervously walked on to the pitcher mound as he clasped the baseball firmly in his hands. He looked up to see the first person up on the mound.

“Akanishi Jin…” Massu frowned as Jin threw the other boy a smirk. The penetrating look on Jin’s face made Massu feel even more nervous. Yet Koyama Keiichirou gave Massu a reassuring smile from behind. It was rather comforting to have Koyama as the catcher…it made Massu feel more at ease.

“Can this bitch even throw?” Jin mocked as he got into a hitting position.

“He’ll knock you out.” Koyama retorted.

“If you lie, I’ll knock you out,” Jin smirked.

“…” Koyama let out a small sigh as he watched for Massu’s ball.

Massu pitched the ball with all his might, only for the ball to meet with Jin’s metal bat. Jin slammed the ball with all his might, as he made his way towards 1st base, which was being guarded by Tegoshi Yuya.

Tegoshi felt horribly nervous as Jin ran straight towards him almost as if Jin wanted to run down the other boy. Tegoshi looked to the side, wondering if any of the outfielders had caught the ball yet. Jin stepped on to the 1st base plate as he headed towards second which was being guarded by Yamapi.

Yamapi looked anxiously from Jin to the outfielder. He raised his gloved hand, demanding his team mate to throw the ball towards him. The outfielder finally threw the ball towards Yamapi’s direction as Yamapi finally caught it, only to look down and see that Jin had slid down onto second base.

“SAFE!”

Yamapi cursed inside as he threw the ball back to Massu. Jin stood up as he patted the dirt off his pants giving Yamapi a deathly glare.

“Still have your pride, don’t you?” Jin gave a rather hateful smile towards the other.

“Are you asking for your ass to get kicked?” Yamapi crossed his arms, feeling irritated.

“You’re one to talk, don’t flatter yourself, it’s disgusting.” Jin gagged.

“I’m not flattering myself, you’re just too bitter to face the truth…” Yamapi retorted.

“What truth?” Jin felt his head boil. “What fucking truth? There is no fucking-”

Jin paused as he watched the ball fly over, immediately running away from second base…leaving Yamapi in the dust. Yamapi clenched his fists tightly as he watched Jin run…the sight of Jin made him so angry…so very angry.

It was finally the seventh inning. The current score was 7-4, with Akai High in the lead. It was no surprise that Akai High would be in the lead; after all, they DID have Kamenashi Kazuya as their pitcher.

Kame smiled in satisfaction as he tossed the baseball in his hand, waiting for his next victim, yet he froze shortly…his mouth gaping slightly.

Kusano Hironori stepped on to the batting mound as he flashed Kame a bright smile. Jin noticed this and felt horribly irritated. Kame gave a loving smile back. Since it was Kusano, he told himself that he would go easy on the boy.

Kame got ready to throw a soft pitch, only to frown slightly as Kusano fell on to the ground.

“Whoops, I stretched my arm out too far.”

Jin pushed Kusano down hard, but made it seem as if he was adjusting his glove and accidentally hitting the other boy. Kusano felt a sharp sting on his leg as he ignored the pain and stood up.

“It’s okay…you should get glasses…” Kusano remarked as he got into a hitting position.

“I don’t NEED glasses,” Jin retorted. “Stupid idiot…”

“I’m not an idiot!” Kusano frowned as the umpire let out a small grunt. “Ah, sorry.”

Kusano resumed his position once more as Kame felt even angrier towards Jin’s actions. He knew that Jin did it on purpose; otherwise the kid wouldn’t have fallen so obviously in Kame’s eyes. Kame tossed the ball gently which surprised the crowd of both teams. Kusano slammed against the ball with all his might, as the ball flew out of the field.

“What the fuck?” Jin could not believe what Kame had just done as he watched the ball fly over.

“I can’t believe it…I just can’t believe it…” Nakamaru didn’t know whether to laugh or get angry. He recognized the boy dressed as Pikachu yet Kame was putting their school at risk by giving the boy such an easy throw…

“Kame…” Junno watched the ball fly out of the field, questioning his friend’s actions.

“He basically gave him a home run…” Ueda frowned as he was unable to catch the ball.

“WHOA! WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?” Uchi Hiroki jumped out of his seat as he rubbed his eyes.

“Kusano making a home run…?” Massu’s eyes expanded. “And Kame struck me out!”

Yamapi couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed either. “H-He did it on purpose…he threw it softly on purpose!”

“No doubt about it…” Koyama frowned slightly as he turned to look around. “…hey…guys…where’s Shige?”

The other teammates ignored Koyama’s question as they were too mesmerized by the sudden home run.

Shige’s face flushed red as he was sweating heavily in his clothes. The heat of the wig upon his head made it even worse as he frowned at the thought of his damp hair. It was not easy changing from a sweaty uniform into clean girl clothes after every other inning. In fact it was deadly tiring.

“Ah, Shigeako!” Junno’s mother studied Shige’s face. “Wow…must have been tough on the toilet…”

Shige flushed even harder at the thought. Did Junno’s mother really have to state such a comment?

“Anyways, did you see what happened down there?” Junno’s mother pointed at the field in disbelief.

Shige shook his head as he looked around, realizing that the crowd cheering for Akai High had disappointed facial expressions.

“What the fuck was that kid thinking?”

“It was on accident, right? He can’t possibly throw a throw like that on purpose, can he?”

“I can’t believe he gave that kid a freebie!”

Shige frowned as he listened to the comments said around him.

“Kame-kun threw a soft pitch to that Aoi boy…having them score an easy point…” Junno’s mother explained with a disappointed expression on her face. “Really now, what is that boy thinking?”

Shige responded with a slight shrug as he too wondered why Kame threw such a pitch towards Kusano.

“Oh and Shigeako…” Junno’s mother turned to him with a serious expression, making Shige feel immensely uncomfortable.

Shige gave a small nod.

“You smell awful.”

Shige felt his face flush with embarrassment as his hatred towards Junno grew.

Kusano Hironori hit home plate with a huge grin on his face. The side of Aoi High cheered with happiness as Kusano ran into the pit.

“DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT?” Kusano squealed in delight. “I WAS AMAZING, HUH?”

“Yeah, you did great, kid!” Uchi smiled as he ruffled Kusano’s head.

“I’m impressed,” Koyama gave a confident nod.

“HEE!” Kusano continued to be in a joyful mood as he watched Yamapi stand up to get a bat. It seemed that Yamapi was next to bat. “I bet you can’t make a home run like me!”

Yamapi turned to the younger boy as he gave a smile. “Oh, I have something better in mind…”

Uchi stared at Yamapi as he wondered what went through Yamapi’s mind. What exactly was this ‘plan’?

Yamapi walked up to the plate as he firmly gripped his baseball bat. Jin gave Yamapi taunting glances, hoping that Kame would return back to his senses from that awful easy throw.

“There is no truth.” Jin commented. “There is only ignorance.”

“Shut up.” Yamapi snapped as he looked straight at Kame. Yamapi was actually a decent baseball player himself. He was just never too into the sport to actually excel in it, but he had his own set of talent.

Kame felt Yamapi’s poignant glare piercing through him. He couldn’t help but be reminded of the prior incident and the foolish promise he had begged. In the end, Kame didn’t want to damage his arm. He loved baseball way too much…

Kame threw the ball back to his normal ways, relieving the crowd tremendously, allowing them to know that Kame had finally come back to his sense.

“STRIKE ONE!”

Yamapi didn’t let the strike bother him yet he couldn’t help but he annoyed by Jin’s satisfied grunt.

“BALL ONE!”

Yamapi had to wait for the perfect moment…the perfect pitch…the perfect angle…no…this throw was not it…

“BALL TWO!”

Yamapi relied on this throw…he felt it would be this one…he watched Kame’s hand let go of the ball as it flew towards him…yes…the angle was perfect…he would be able to do it…

“You suck!” Jin commented, distorting Yamapi’s concentration.

“STRIKE TWO!”

“Fuck!” Yamapi cursed to himself as he clutched on to the bat tightly, cursing Jin with all his might. Sweat beaded heavily upon his head as he then focused on the next pitch, hoping that it would be the same as the prior one.

Kame threw the pitch as Yamapi responded rather delightfully. It was even better than the prior pitch…Yamapi watched as the ball come close, feeling his muscles flex as he gripped on to the metal bat tightly…he was going to need all his strength for this…

The ball flew straight and hard…

…right into Kame’s face.

Oh yeah and sorry if I'm screwy with the whole baseball game business, to be honest, I've never watched baseball in my life, I'm just doing this from what I learned in P.E. LOL, I guess P.E. is a somewhat useful subject...XDDD

Ahaha, omg, I've been doing so poorly in school these days because I always end up not doing my homework and have like missing assignments. XDDD and yeah I daydream about writing fics during school and like not pay attention...I'm sucha bad student. D:
