[Fanfic] Unexpected Diversions (Prologue + Chapter 1)
Title: Unexpected Diversions (Prologue + Chapter 1)
Pairings/Appearances: Eventually ALL of SuJu, but at the moment there is only Hee Chul and Shi Won...pairings will eventually be ShiChul, KangTeuk...more to come. This is the beginning of an epic after all, so there isn't much. XD

Warnings: AU...Crossdressing...?
Synopsis: Taken place in a medieval era of Kings and Queens and how the characters relate to one another as they embark on a journey. (I know I know..GAY SYNOPSIS. *shoots self*) Just give it a shot?

Prologue

There was always a saying that went something like how people should always look forward into meeting other people and see how their lives would change. Of course the result of that meeting could change a person’s life for better or for worst but one is in no position to make such judgments or predictions. But then again it could be one of those meetings where you just briefly meet someone and never see them again for the rest of your life.

Such meetings are boring.

In result of that meeting, a relationship is formed as one is inseparable from the other. It starts with two people as it grows to three…slowly the numbers adding on and on one by one as a new acquaintance is made on the way.

Life is an adventure…a road to an uncalled future…

…however such a future can only be achieved by meeting new people.

Chapter 1

“I don’t like it…no, in fact…I HATE IT…”

“But this is the dress you requested, you specifically asked for-”

“ARE YOU TALKING BACK TO ME?”

“N-No, of course not your h-highness…”

“Take it away from my sight…it makes me sick…”

“What do you plan on wearing for the dinner tonight?”

“I want to wear a suit…”

“You know you can’t do that sir…your father, he’ll-”

“I know…that…I know…”

Kim Hee Chul sat on his bed as he lied back on his comfortable pink bed. His eyes roamed around his room looking at all the past items that compiled his life. The porcelain dolls…the china tea cup set…the abundance of teddy bears…and the excessive sight of pink…

He grew up as a princess…in other words…a female.

There were four kingdoms that existed in the country. Hee Chul’s father governed the country of the north whereas his distant uncle under the same surname of Kim governed the East kingdom. The West kingdom was governed by a different Kim and the South was governed by Park.

The South Kingdom was known to have foul relationships with the other kingdoms as the West Kingdom tended to seclude itself from worldly affairs. However Hee Chul’s father had been doing his best to amend that situation by compromising an idea that was made without the consent of his only child…

From the moment Kim Hee Chul was born, his baby face slowly formed with radiating beauty. His feminine features were quite delicate and beautiful that his father refused to believe that Hee Chul was a male. He concluded that Hee Chul would grow up to be a princess, imprinting the idea that Hee Chul was definitely a female. No one dared to deny the theory as they were in fear of being executed for defying the king…even the queen herself refused to deny Hee Chul’s true gender.

All his life Hee Chul never experienced the joys of rolling in the mud or participating in sports. He would often be bundled up in the castle learning how to serve tea and trying on dresses. His father would often call upon him, not to have any manly talks of some sort, but to just look at his ‘daughter’ and admire ‘her’ beautiful features.

“Argh, I guess I’ll have to wear this…and this dress color isn’t even pink!” Hee Chul scowled as he snatched the dress from his servant’s hand.

“But your highness…it is pink…” The servant stuttered.

“You call this pink?” Hee Chul waved the dress in disbelief. “This is more like ugly magenta or purple or ugh, whatever!”

Hee Chul flailed his arms in frustration as he began to strip off his clothes. He then paused to frown as he turned to the servant once more.

“Do you mind?” Hee Chul frowned heavily in irritation.

“My sincerest apologies sir…” The servant bowed her head as she hastily left the room.

Hee Chul let out a small sigh as he sat in front of the mirror, applying on light make up. Apparently the dinner that his family was to have that night was a big one. Hee Chul did like surprises…but for some reason he didn’t get a good feeling from this one…

“Oh woe me…” Hee Chul let out another sarcastic sigh. “It’s really hard to be beautiful…”

In another part of the north kingdom resided an area where all the soldiers would train in serving the North kingdom’s army. Each man is sworn into oath as they are to remain loyal to the North kingdom for the rest of their life. However that day, a selected few were chosen by the king’s request. What the request was…no one was quite sure, but the selected few were incredibly excited to be personally scouted by the king and his high officials.

This particularly moment was an exciting one for one particular individual…considering that he was a rookie and an amateur…being offered such a position at and early stage meant a lot for the boy…

“Wow…Choi Shi Won…I’m impressed that you were selected…” A veteran soldier peered down at the younger boy. “Yet you trained for one year…actually I noticed that a lot of rookies have been selected…”

“I’ll do my best to serve the king…” Shi Won responded humbly.

The veteran gave a small scowl, mainly the reason for he wasn’t personally chosen from the king himself. “But you know…I heard this job was kind of…you know phony…”

“Phony…?” Shi Won frowned slightly.

“Yeah…like how all the rookies are assigned because it’s a job where the strong veterans aren’t needed…kind of like errand boys…mail carriers…know what I mean?”

“Even so, being an errand boy or fighting in a war, I will serve the king loyally,” Shi Won responded respectfully. “Now if you’ll please excuse me…”

The veteran cursed the younger boy under his breath.

Shi Won joined up with the other rookies in a room. The veteran did have a point…Shi Won did noticed that a majority of the rookies had been selected for the job causing Shi Won to be even more curious of what the assignment actually was. Shi Won shook his head. It didn’t matter what the job was…he would serve his kingdom loyally.

“As you all know…you have all been selected to serve this mission under the king’s personal request…” A high official entered the room as the rookie soldiers immediately took a bow. “…and I’m sure you’re all dead curious on what this mission actually is…”

Soft murmurs were heard throughout the room.

“Well…I shall tell you…” The high official smiled. “You are all to accompany the Princess on a trip…she is to be taken safely to the West Kingdom where an alliance shall be formed. She will be placed in a private carriage and you are all to assist her from the outside…NO ONE is to look at the princess or touch her…if such actions are heard of…an execution shall be commenced…”

The soldiers nodded in acknowledgement.

“The trip will begin tonight at midnight…I expect to see you all at the gates…”

Princess Hee Chul sat in the dinner table, trying so hard to not scratch his nose as it irritated him greatly. The boy had just finished eating his dinner as he wondered what was the big news that his father had to inform him. Hee Chul smiled prettily at his father as deep inside, he waited impatiently.

“Hee Chul…you are becoming prettier and prettier each day…” His father smiled as he grabbed Hee Chul’s hand.

Hee Chul rolled his eyes inside. He wished for once that his father wouldn’t tell him something that he already knew.

“You just say that because I’m your daughter,” Hee Chul responded bashfully. The acting wanted to make him puke.

“But I speak the truth and now I’m sad for I won’t be able to wake up and see your pretty little face…”

Hee Chul’s smile dropped as he peered into his father’s face. “Aww…why do you speak like that?”

“Hee Chul…I am sending you to the West…”

“The west?” Hee Chul looked baffled. This was news he definitely did not see coming. “Why the west?”

“Because you are being betrothed…”

“Betrothed?” Hee Chul couldn’t believe what he was actually hearing.

“Betrothed to Prince Kang In of the West Kingdom…through your marriage we hope to form an alliance between the two kingdoms…” Hee Chul’s father smiled. “Make your father proud by serving his kingdom…”

“U-Um yeah, of course f-father!” Hee Chul stuttered in shock. “A-And when am I to leaving?”

“Tonight.”

Hee Chul felt faint…very faint…

A/N: Okay this had been a plotbunny that had been knawing at my brain for awhile. It's not much in the beginning because I noticed how most people in this comm preferred short chapters. (Okay I may be wrong I dunno) But yeah, I'll try to make my chapters short...lol. But anyways, yes, all the SuJu members will come out eventually...

There will be comedy..romance...drama...all that good stuff to come, but uh yeah, I hope you'll look forward to it?

And if theres any pairings you would like to see, feel free to throw them at me, cept ShiChul because THERE WILL BE SHICHUL IN THIS FIC. IT'S A MUST.
